NUS Students Visit CMU Faculty of Agro-Industry to Explore Sustainable Food Innovation

post-image On May 28, 2025, a group of 22 students and 3 faculty members and staff from the National University of Singapore (NUS) visited the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, along with the Food Innovation and Packaging Center (FIN). The delegation was welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Shitapan Bai-Ngew, Director of the Center, along with international students from the Food Science and Technology program.
 
The primary objective of the visit was to learn about food innovation and technology that align with the SDGs. During the visit, the group toured key laboratories within the faculty, including facilities for chemical analysis laboratories, sensory evaluation rooms, and the Nutrition Innovation Center (NICE), which focuses on research and development of nutritious food solutions tailored to healthy lifestyles. The group also visited the faculty’s pilot plant, where research outputs are scaled up for semi-industrial production.
 
This visit highlights the growing international collaboration in sustainable agro-industrial development and showcases the Faculty of Agro-Industry’s commitment to integrating innovation with environmental and social responsibility.
