The 2nd Annual Meeting under the TRF Senior Research Scholar Project
The 2nd Annual Meeting under the TRF Senior Research Scholar Project of Professor Dr. Pornchai Rachtanapun, supported by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), was held from 16–17 May 2026 at Treescape Retreat Resort, Chiang Mai Province. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Pornchai Rachtanapun, Head of the TRF Senior Research Scholar Project, together with researchers from various academic institutions within the research network. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Pornchai Rachtanapun delivered a report on the objectives of the meeting, while Associate Professor Dr. Noppol Leksawasdi, Assistant to the President of Chiang Mai University, graciously delivered a warm welcome address and officially opened the meeting.
The meeting was organized as an academic knowledge-sharing forum, with the main objectives of summarizing the progress of the TRF Senior Research Scholar Project of Professor Dr. Pornchai Rachtanapun in its second year, while also promoting the development of young researchers, strengthening research teams, and expanding academic collaboration networks among institutions. The event was honored by the presence of Emeritus Professor Dr. Saisamorn Lumyong from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, who served as a keynote speaker and shared her valuable research experiences and perspectives, as well as approaches to producing high-quality research that responds to societal needs and can be translated into practical applications. The meeting was also honored by Associate Professor Dr. Siriwadee Chomdej from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, who shared her experiences and academic perspectives, contributing to the capacity building of young researchers and the strengthening of research collaboration networks.
In addition, the meeting aimed to provide a platform for the transfer of knowledge, experiences, and perspectives from distinguished experts and researchers on key topics, including the dissemination of research through online media, interdisciplinary research development, the translation of research outputs into commercial and community applications, and the role of teamwork and academic mentorship for youth and young researchers. These activities serve as an important mechanism for enhancing the quality of research, strengthening the capacity of research personnel, and supporting the long-term development of the country’s intellectual human resources.
