Their inclusion in this prestigious global database reflects the international impact and excellence of their research contributions, as measured through citation-based indicators.

About the World’s Top 2% Scientists Ranking

The World’s Top 2% Scientists database was developed based on the work of Professor John P. A. Ioannidis and colleagues at Stanford University. Since 2019, the ranking has utilized data from Elsevier’s Scopus database together with a composite citation indicator (c-score), which incorporates citation counts, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted metrics, and author contribution roles.

The August 2026 edition includes 243,949 researchers in the Career-long Citation Impact category and 249,310 researchers in the Single-year Citation Impact (2025) category. The analysis is based on Scopus data available as of 1 August 2026, with citation impact assessed through the end of 2025.

Researchers are selected if they rank among the top 100,000 scientists worldwide by c-score or are within the top 2% of their respective subfields.
